Will Johnny Come Marching Home? 1865 at the Fulton County Museum

May 1, 2015 (WAUSEON,OH)  The Fulton County Historical Society will be hosting first-person theatrical live storytellers at the Fulton County Museum on Saturday, May 16, 2015.  This event is a part of their Hell & Homefront initiative which highlights the Civil War through Fulton County eyes.

The front porch of the museum will be transformed into the front porch of Marie Hibbard, of Spring Hill (Tedrow), and each visitor to this event will receive a Fulton County family identity.  Now that the war is over and the president slain, guests will find out if their soldier “Johnny” is marching home or not and learn details about Lincoln’s funeral train. Groups of 2-8 may reserve seats between noon-3pm. Enjoy complimentary Afternoon Tea (sandwiches, scones, desserts, and a choice of hot tea or pink lemonade).

$10 member and $12.50 non-member tickets.

Guests will also be able to see the new temporary exhibit which features events of 1865 inside the museum. The Fulton County Museum is now open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10:00am – 4:00pm and Saturdays from 10:00am – 2:00pm. Members FREE. Adults, $4, Seniors, $3, and Students $2.

To reserve a seat, contact the Historical Society at (419)337-7922 or email museum@fultoncountyhs.org. Learn more at http://www.fultoncountyhs.org/.  You can also stay connected by signing up for text or email message through the “Notify Me” option on the Fulton County website at http://fultoncountyoh.com/list.aspx.

Carp Fall Fest & 5K Run for the Lights – October 3, 2015

For free fun, bring the whole family to the annual Carp Fall Fest. Experience the welcoming charm of downtown Archbold with an assortment of activities for both adults and kids, including a chili cook-off, arts and craft vendors, pedal tractor pulls, and pumpkin carving all while music fills the streets.

Support the Annual Festival of Lights by running in our 5k or participating in our 2 mile walk.  The race kicks off the Carp Fall Festival and starts and ends in the heart of Archbold. Awards for top overall male and female finishers and top 3 finishers in each category. There is even a “Little Fish Fun Run” immediately following the run/walk. I've been following the sexting story in the Buckeye, and how it might relate to a happening when I was at Archbold. My opinion on the sexting is, it was an in-house matter, and could have been handled in-house. If other schools would have been involved, that takes it out of [...]
